Shradha PANDEY

Founder of the Grassroots Energy Management Support (GEMS) project

Shradha PANDEY started her journey driven by her passion for sustainable development, which inspired her to found the Grassroots Energy Management Support (GEMS) project in 2020. The project addresses the 'energetic inequality' prevalent in Indian villages. She was born into a village where her father was the first to receive an education and she witnessed her mother and grandmother struggle with firewood and dung cakes for cooking. She attended a Christian Convent school during her formative years. This foundation led her to the National Law University, Tamil Nadu, where she excelled, graduating as a triple gold medalist with a B.A. LL. B (Hons.) in 2022.

Her leadership in GEMS led to her role as a Generation Connect – Asia and the Pacific Youth Envoy. She contributed to the Generation Connect Global Youth Summit in Rwanda and participated in the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference in Romania in 2022. Recognized by the Kofi Annan Foundation and now based in Bangalore, she has been practicing civil litigation since 2023. Outside her professional life, hobbies like swimming and painting keep her grounded and inspired.
