Nisreen ELSAIM
Climate activist and founder of the Sudan Youth Organization on Climate Change
Nisreen ELSAIM is a young climate activist, leader, and mother of one-year old boy. Holds a Bachelor's degree in Physics and a Master's degree in renewable energy from the University of Khartoum, Sudan. Her exceptional dedication and commitment to crucial issues such as the environment, gender, youth, and politics have driven her to take action.
After becoming the youngest negotiator with the African Group of Negotiators, she was fortunate to be selected as the chair of the UN Secretary-General Youth Advisory Group on Climate Change
Also, Nisreen founded and then Chaired the Sudan Youth Organization on Climate Change (SYOCC) which is a youth-led organization, with 1348 members. She planned and organized over 823 forums and workshops since 2013. In 2023, she was awarded activist of the year, at the Young Activist Summit in Geneva.
Nisreen Elsaim has emerged as a dedicated advocate for peace in Sudan, making remarkable contributions to the nation's journey towards stability and democratic governance. Starting with her involvement in the December revolution, Nisreen's commitment remained unwavering during the ensuing transition period and even after the devastating 15 April war in Sudan.
