Pedro David FERNANDEZ

Pedro David Fernandez is an agricultural engineer, who always has been interested in how to make food systems more sustainable. Coming from Argentina, where ranching is a key land-use activity, he realized that there are large impacts connected to cattle production, but also huge and often unrealized potentials for making ranching more climate smart. He is aiming to contribute to the much-needed transition to sustainability of ranching sectors; to help them mitigate - instead of drive - climate change. During his almost 8 years working in science, he also realized the need to properly communicate research to have concrete impacts on the environmental goals. For that reason, Mr. Fernandez has been working with policymakers for governmental decisions, and with land managers through consultancy, to influence changes in practices.
